M J Dort

M J grew up in Erie, PA, and graduated from University of Dayton. She began a successful hospitality career working for Hilton and Marriott hosting International business clients. M J became known as a “Trusted Advisor” to her clients.

Switching gears, M J found a rewarding experience being a team member of Junior Achievement of Southwest Florida writing grants, teaching in the classroom, and putting on successful fundraising events. In 2016, she was instrumental in starting Directional Command, LLC, a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). As VP, she established the Medical and Dental Division serving the Department of Veteran Affairs across the United States. The business sold in October 2024.

Fortunately, M J found her way to the Science Mill to use her expertise in business and donor development. M J will focus on advancing the impact and growth potential of innovative STEM programs which is crucial to our next generations. M J loves classical music, snow skiing, white water rafting, yoga, hiking, travel and meeting new friends.
