Make Music, Code & Create

When the sleigh bells stop jingling and the silver bells go silent, the Science Mill will still be spreading holiday cheer. Join us for a three-day winter jam session on December 26, 27 and 28 -- Make Music, Code & Create! We’ll be making music with a techy twist. Compose electronic tunes with coding and circuitry activities, and build your own recycled instrument to take home.

All special event activities are included in general admission. Museum is open late from 10am-5pm with special activities from 11am-3pm on Dec. 26, 27, and 28.

Makey Some Music.

With the help of a Makey Makey circuit board, turn fruits and veggies into musical notes and drum beats. Play your favorite songs or learn some new ones on a Makey Makey instrument you build yourself.

Micro:bit Mystery Music

Can you name that tune? Use your coding skills to add the right rhythms and missing beats to recreate a familiar song, played on the micro:bit. Then create some choreography: shake, turn and press buttons to make the micro:bit play!

Merry Music Make & Take Station

Make your own musical instrument at the Science Mill! Choose from assorted recyclable items and craft materials, and experiment with the different sounds you can make. Dream it, design it, build it, then take it home to enjoy!
