SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 17TH
Design, test and problem solve alongside special guests from the Austin branch of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). They’ll help you turn everyday objects into engineering marvels as you explore the engineering design process and the collaborative nature of engineering.

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 18TH

Catch a robot arm demonstration by Isaac Newbouse from Neff Power and enjoy these exciting Pop-Up Engineering Exhibits:
Mini Mechanical Arm: Guests will be challenged to engineer a mini mechanical arm using straws and Strawbees connectors. Participants will explore the world of simple machines and engineering while learning how these devices function and their mechanics.
Biomimicry Cardboard Engineering: At this station, guests will engage in understanding the process that cardboard takes from initial development from trees and pulp, through its recycle loop and back into biomass. During this learning cycle, guests will also have the opportunity to construct an object of personal choice using the cardboard cutouts provided. Guests will have an open-ended experience where they will build an object, fitting in a 20” square box, utilizing only the two or three varied shapes provided.
Earthquake Engineering: At this station, students will learn about structural and natural hazards engineering by creating a structure and placing it on the shake table to see if it can survive an earthquake.
