Signs of Spring: A Phenology Hike at Pedernales Falls State Park
March 30, 2024 10:00AM
Pedernales Falls State Park
Participants will meet at Pedernales Falls State Park and then embark on an educator-led hike through 4 different ecosystems, looking for hints that spring is beginning, also known as phenological signs. We will learn about how tracking observations like these can help scientists through community science projects. There will be an information session about the Science Outside program and our monarch conservation project. After the session, families are welcome to walk to the famous falls and explore independently.
REMINDERS
We will meet at the Pedernales Falls State Park parking lot by the falls on the west side.
We will hike the Hackenburg Loop trail. It is a 1.5-mile hike. Please bring water, bug spray, sunblock and a hat or sunglasses with you.
