Robot Mania returns to the Science Mill during our expanded Spring Break schedule, with special activities every day from Monday, March 8 through Friday, March 19. Come try this year’s new challenge: performing “surgery” with bionic robot arms! Activity stations run from 10:30am-12:30pm and 1:30-3:30pm Mon-Fri, plus enjoy 50+ interactive exhibitions inside the museum and outside in our Science & Art Park.
Reserve your tickets online to help us ensure space for all guests and provide contactless entry.
*Please note, the Science Mill will continue to maintain current safety protocols and will require masks for visitors ages 5 and up while inside the museum during this event to protect the health of our guests and staff.
Activity Stations
Special activities run Mon-Fri from 10:30am-12:30pm & 1:30-3:30pm, unless otherwise noted.
Battle Bots: Two robots enter the ring - only one will remain. Master the speed and timing to force your opponent out of the ring.
Jumbo Robo Operation: It's a robotics twist on the classic board game, with a life-size patient! Carefully maneuver the bionic arms to perform surgery, but **BUZZ!** don't get too close to the edge.
Drive the Mars rover: Step behind the controls of our mBot rover and guide it through the Martian landscape. See how fast you can make it to Jezero Crater—but look out for hazards!
Code a Human Robot: Help our educators program a “human robot” to complete a recipe. Think carefully—forget a step or write bad code, and things can get messy! Join demos at 11:30am and 2:30pm Mon-Fri.
Robo Mural: Watch as Scribit, a drawing robot, scales the Science Mill’s walls to create a multi-colored mural. Visit us on social media to leave your ideas for what Scribit should draw next!
Brains Behind the Bots: At video stations throughout the museum, meet engineers, programmers and other STEM professionals who work in robotics.
Robots on the Big Screen: Check with our front desk to find out what robot movie we’re screening in the Theater that day! Movies play every hour on the hour.
Featured Exhibits
Colossal Robotic Hand
Send a 30-foot-tall peace sign or a high-five! Pick a pose with the hand-shaped joystick to control the Colossal Robotic Hand’s massive fingers.
Critter Bots
Bring these robotic animals to life by building digital blocks of code with action commands—then watch them scratch, bellow and rattle!
Robotic Marionette
Use the controllers to make this funny fellow dance and see robotic joints in action.
3D Printer
Layer by layer, computer code becomes a robot-inspired sculpture—come see what’s printing!
