It’s Robot Mania at the Science Mill this Spring Break!
From March 11-19, we’ll be open every day! We will have robots that battle, code, and “Code a Human Robot” demos, along with 50+ interactive exhibitions inside the museum and outside in our Science & Art Park.
Special Robot Mania activities run continuously 10:30-12:30, 1:30-3:30 except Sunday. Sunday activity schedule: 1-3pm (But you can send a high-five with our 30-foot-tall Colossal Robotic Hand any time!)
Reserve your tickets online or buy admission at the door!
Battle Bots: It’s flip or be flipped in a battle of WiFi-enabled bots! Control the bot’s servo lever to turn your opponent upside-down.
Botley Robots: Guests will be able to learn the basic principles of coding through a series of challenges with Botley and coding cards. Great for ages 5 to 9
Code a Human Robot: Help our educators program a “human robot” to complete a recipe. Think carefully—forget a step or write bad code, and things can get messy! Join demos at 11:30am and 2:30pm Mon-Fri.
Ozobots: Learn different ways to code with Ozobots! From coding with markers and paper to block coding.
Brains Behind the Bots: At video stations throughout the museum, meet engineers, programmers and other STEM professionals who work in robotics.
Featured Exhibits
FRC Robotics Team Build Lab
Watch our very own high school robotics team as they design and fabricate their robot for competition. Live Build happens March 13-15, and we will be live streaming their first competition March 16-18.
Colossal Robotic Hand
Send a 30-foot-tall peace sign or a high-five! Pick a pose with the hand-shaped joystick to control the Colossal Robotic Hand’s massive fingers.
Critter Bots
Bring these robotic animals to life by building digital blocks of code with action commands—then watch them scratch, bellow and rattle!
Robotic Marionette
Use the controllers to make this funny fellow dance and see robotic joints in action.
3D Printer
Layer by layer, computer code becomes a robot-inspired sculpture—come see what’s printing!
Deep Sea Robotics Explore a world seven miles underwater with Deep Sea Robotics! Guide the robotic drone over and around the jagged rocks of a deep ocean trench using a dual-toggle controller.
The Science Mill is a family destination offering a fun, interactive learning environment for all ages. Through cutting-edge technology-based exhibits, games, and programs, the Science Mill expands students' understanding and appreciation of science in their everyday lives.
By igniting their curiosity and inspiring them to pursue post-secondary education, the Science Mill experience starts students on the path to a life-long career in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).
