Saddle up for the most exciting Science Mill spring break yet! Ride an adrenaline and curiosity high through exciting hands-on activities exploring the worlds of science, technology, math, and engineering. There's something for everyone at the arena this March 9-17!
ACTIVITIES
Create a Thaumatrope - Explore the idea of persistence of vision through the creation of a thaumatrope. This visual illusion occurs when the human eye continues to perceive an image even after it briefly disappears.
Create an LED mini postcard - Visitors will learn about circuits by crafting their own personalized LED Gift Tags. Using a LED light and a coin cell battery, participants will illuminate their custom gift tags, learning how the coin cell battery powers the LED to shine brightly.
Explore our vocal visualizer - Experience the visualization of sound waves from various music selections through the Music Visualizer. Vibrations within the Music Visualizer will allow you to observe as frequency and amplitude manifest in the creation of unique shapes and patterns.
Design your rodeo with our cardboard challenge - Put your creativity and engineering skills to test by making your own rodeo using cardboard!
Film Canister Rockets - Launch a rocket by making a chemical reaction!
Makey Makey Jukebox - At this station, guests will select songs on the interactive Makey Makey Jukebox. This hands-on experience allows participants to enjoy music and also provides an opportunity to learn more about coding and circuits.
