David W. T. King

Workforce Development Manager – INEOS Olefins and Polymers USA (Retired)

After graduating from Queens’ University (Kingston, Ontario, Canada) with Honors in Chemical Engineering, David has worked in various Manufacturing, Engineering, Technology, Management and Leadership roles during his career with DuPont, Solvay and INEOS. After 3 years in the Solvay Technical Division in Brussels, Belgium, David returned to Houston as the Site Manager for the INEOS polyolefins complex in LaPorte, Texas.

Prior to his role in leading Strategic Workforce Development, David was the President of INEOS Bio, completing the construction, commissioning and operation of an innovative waste to bioethanol demonstration facility in Florida and also served as the Chief Operating Officer for the former INEOS Enterprises biodiesel Joint Venture.

In his Workforce Development and Advocacy role, before his retirement in December 2020, David was active on the Advisory Panels of the regional Community Colleges, the Boards of several Industry Associations and was involved with State and National Workforce Advocacy, all with a focus on initiatives to build a sustainable, inclusive talent pipeline for great STEM and Skilled Craft careers in the petrochemical and energy industries.
